Stars in the Sky

The Newport News Department of Parks & Recreation will present the “4th of July Stars in the Sky” on Tuesday, July 4, 2023, at Victory Landing Park (50 25^th St.). Gates open at 6:00 p.m. and the festivities begins at 7:00 p.m. Be sure to grab your free light up give-away (while supplies last) on your way into the festival area, which will be full of patriotic spirit including children’s activities (inflatables, face painting and more), live musical performances and strolling entertainers in red, white and blue. Food vendors will be on site selling Independence Day family favorites including hamburgers, hot dogs, ribs, snow cones, ice cream, funnel cakes and so much more.  Live music will also be provided on the main stage from 7:30 to 9:00 p.m. and the night will culminate in a spectacular fireworks show at 9:00 p.m. by the international award-winning company Pyrotecnico, who will light up the sky with an amazing display of patriotic sights and sounds.

Admission and parking are free. Directions: Take I-64 to I-664S, take Exit 6 to 26th Street, turn left onto Huntington Avenue, and turn right onto 23^rd Street. Free parking is available at the Newport News City Hall parking lot and designated non-restricted public parking spaces in the Downtown area. No pets, alcohol, bicycles, skateboards or radios are permitted inside the event area.
