Stars in the Sky

July 4 @ 7:00 pm - 9:15 pm

CELEBRATE THE 4TH OF JULY
Due to the anticipated heat, gates will open at 7:00 p.m.

Fireworks, festivities, and fun – expect this and more at the annual “Stars in the Sky” Independence Day celebration at Victory Landing Park, 50 26th St. in Newport News from 7:00 p.m. to 9:15 p.m. on July 4. Gates open at 7:00 p.m.

Part of America’s 250th birthday and Virginia 250, the event commemorates freedom, and the city’s rich, diverse community and history. Admission and parking are free.

This family-friendly celebration features live entertainment, food trucks, games, activities, giveaways, and more, culminating with a spectacular 15-minute fireworks finale.

This year’s sponsors are Newport News Shipbuilding – a division of HII – and Westgate Resorts. Produced by Newport News Department of Parks and Recreation, Stars in the Sky’s headlining musical act this year is the United States Air Force Heritage of America Band Full Spectrum.

“This lively band delivers the best in pop and rock and is sure to excite the crowd,” said Airris Madden, Assistant Director of Arts, Culture, and Engagement for Newport News Department of Recreation.

Full Spectrum’s past shows include appearances with Conan O’Brien, Good Morning America, Fox and Friends, Monday Night Football, NASCAR, the World Series, Train, Daughtry, Joe Bonamassa and more. DJ Sonny Da Goat will also provide musical entertainment.
