If music is food for the soul, Queen Esther Marrow is a master chef. She has prepared a truly inspirational show to lift spirits and bring us all into 2024 with joy, enthusiasm and positivity.

Queen has traveled the world presenting sold-out performances spreading a message of hope and love, but her passion to bring this message home to Newport News has never left her. In this exciting new chapter, join her for an elegant evening of inspirational music that will leave everyone wanting to make the world a better place, because we can all make a difference. With her background deeply rooted in gospel music, this show is a compilation of gospel, soul and inspirational music with a message for everyone of every race, religion and background.

Special guests include Maurice Lauchner (as seen in Tyler Perry Productions), classically trained performer Dawana Richardson, the multi-talented Roy Richardson and others, accompanied by an 11-piece orchestra. Andre Chez Lewis is music director.

Queen Esther Marrow Bio

Queen Esther Marrow’s career began when, as a shy 22 year old girl, she was discovered by Duke Ellington. He recognized that this young lady, from Newport News, Virginia was gifted with an extraordinary voice and she soon began a musical journey that would take her around the world. It was a journey that would ultimately include working with Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr and other civil rights leaders, three US presidents, The Pope and countless celebrities and world leaders.

Queen’s early career was spent with Ellington, Harry Belafonte and others laying a foundation for the opportunities that would soon follow–broadway, film, concerts and television. She has shared the stage with Bob Dylan, Aretha Franklin,  Ray Charles, Ella Fitzgerald, Lena Horne, her idol Mahalia Jackson and many, many others.

Her lifetime goal has been to inspire people with music and she spent over 28 years traveling as co-creator and star of the world’s most successful inspirational shows, which bares her name. Queen Esther Marrow’s Harlem Gospel Singers. She became a legend playing in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Spain, Portugal, Greece, Italy, France and the U.K., but still the hunger to bring her message of hope home has never left her.

Queen has shown that she is worthy of her majestic title and opens herself up to a new generation of young people who can benefit from her vision, experience and love. She will be bringing with her an extraordinary compilation of inspirational music that the world so very much needs at this time.
