The Newport News One City Marathon is a point-to-point marathon distance road race that spans the entire length of Newport News, Virginia. The course is full of scenic views of the Virginia peninsula’s parks and water ways, historical neighborhoods, and a finish in the downtown area that is home to Newport News Shipbuilding, the sole provider of United States aircraft carriers.
After crossing the finish line, runners can head to “The Yard District” and relive the day’s highlights with friends at the One City Celebration.
THE ONE CITY MARATHON IS A BOSTON QUALIFYING RACE
Quickly becoming known as one of the faster Spring marathons in the US, the One City Marathon had a 23% qualifying rate in 2020. The USATF racecourse certification number is VA22003RT.
The Newport News One City Marathon has a 7-hour time limit (16:00/mile pace)
