Honor US Signal Corps Telephone Operator Marie Moss

July 9 @ 11:00 am - 12:00 pm

Join us as we honor World War I Army Signal Corps Telephone Operator Marie Garrow Moss.
Moss, a Newport News native, was one of the first women in the United States Army. When she died in July 1987, she did not receive a proper veteran’s funeral.
Participate in rendering the departing honors she never received as the Virginia War Museum and American Legion Braxton-Perkins Post 25 unveil a Department of Veterans Affairs grave marker.
Please note, event takes place in Greenlawn Memorial Park. Free and open to the public.
