SUMMARY:Denbigh Day Parade & Festival
DESCRIPTION:Celebrate one of Newport News’ favorite traditions at the 66th Annual Denbigh Day Festival & Parade on Saturday\, September 19\, 2026\, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. \nThe festivities begin with the Denbigh Day Parade at 10:00 a.m. starting at Denbigh High School\, 259 Denbigh Boulevard. The parade travels about one mile along Denbigh Boulevard and Old Courthouse Way\, passes the viewing stand and festival grounds at Courthouse Way Community Center\, 14302 Old Courthouse Way\, and ends at Sherwood Shopping Center\, 13771 Warwick Boulevard. Expect a lively lineup of marching bands\, decorated floats\, dance teams\, classic vehicles\, community groups\, youth organizations\, local businesses\, and civic leaders. \nThe celebration continues at the Denbigh Day Festival from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on the grounds of Courthouse Way Community Center (14302 Old Courthouse Way). Festivalgoers can enjoy a food truck rally\, line dancing\, a DJ\, arts and crafts\, inflatables\, games\, educational displays\, a petting zoo\, face painting\, community non-profit organizations and exhibits\, including the Denbigh Lions Club\, merchandise vendors\, food vendors\, and more. \nAdmission\, parking\, and festival activities are free and open to the public\, with food and drinks available for purchase from on-site vendors. To help keep the event safe and enjoyable for everyone\, outside alcohol\, glass containers\, bicycles\, and pets are not permitted\, except for certified service animals. \nGuests and nearby residents should plan ahead for temporary traffic impacts along the parade route. Intersections will begin closing at 7:00 a.m.\, the full route will close by 9:30 a.m.\, and roads will reopen on a rolling basis after the parade.
